International Women’s Day, 2015 – 2018 2018-09-10T13:31:51+00:00

Project Description

Every year since 2011, I have hosted at least one International Women’s Day event on 8 March for organisations as varied as the Insurance Institute of Ireland, Network Ireland and Cork City and County Enterprise Boards.

Cork County Council’s Local Enterprise Office, Cork North and West hosted a special Women in Business Event to mark International Women’s Day at The Celtic Ross Hotel, West Cork on 08.03.2018. Our “Push for Progress” event which was also coinciding with Local Enterprise Week 2018 featured some of Ireland’s leading business women including Cocoa Brown founder Marissa Carter and communications maven, author and columnist Terry Prone. The event was MC’d by Deidre O’Shaughnessy. Aimed at female entrepreneurs, business owners and those with a business idea, the event focused on how women can excel in business while achieving a balance and learn new techniques to deal with stressful times.  Deirdre was very well received by the audience as an MC. She was well prepared and was in touch with us in advance of the event in order for her to prepare for her role as MC. She was professional, engaging, motivated and made the whole event work on the day. Deirdre uses her good wit and humour to engage with the audience as well as her excellent knowledge of current affairs and what is currently topical both at home and Internationally. I would highly recommend Deirdre as an MC and I would be confident in working with her again in one of our upcoming business networking events.
