If you’re looking for somewhere nice for a girly afternoon, check out what’s on offer at the Kingsley. Their ‘Infusion of Tea Time treats’ offer incorporates two 30 minute treatments at their beautiful spa and afternoon tea for €90.
I had the peppermint foot treatment – to soothe my Docs-ravaged feet (long story!) and a gorgeous back, neck and shoulder massage from therapist Lisa.
It’s a lovely way to spend half a day and the view out over the river when you’re having your tea is good for the soul. I saw what I think is a heron, but having forgotten my bird book I can’t be sure! The afternoon tea is delicious and you’ll have to take your time to savour it, as there’s a lot of food on that cake stand! The goats cheese and sunblush tomato pastry was the highlight for both of us.
The Kingsley was re-opened last summer and they are really finding their niche – it’s a tough call to reopen such a much-loved institution with some changes, such as the move from five to four-star. The good news on this front is that it’s a lot more affordable than a five-star hotel, so it’s a very accessible treat. I’ll definitely be back for more.
